Description

Short black velvety fur. Small eyes and no obvious ears. Strong pink coloured shovel like front paws.

Mole hills must be the easiest mammal field sign to identify and record. Please let us know where you see mole hills


Widespread in the county recorded from 29 out of 35 hectads (26 since 2010).
